Ivan Belyaev

Dr Ivan Belyaev completed his PhD in the Applied Systems Biology group at the Leibniz-HKI in 2022. After that, he shifted focus from image processing and applied data analysis to knowledge representation in information systems. Since September 2023, he has been serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Integrative Research Data Management in the FUSION group at the University of Jena. At the same time, he became an affiliated member of the Chemiformatics group. Currently, he continues his projects in our group as Research Data Manager for the Microverse cluster. He aims to improve data management practices and elevate data publication culture to a new level.

As a person keen on reproducibility and measurement standardisation, he joined the Consortium for Quality Assessment and Reproducibility for Instruments and Images in Light Microscopy (QUAREP-LiMi), working groups WG7 “Metadata” and WG10 “Image quality”.

In addition to science, Ivan has a passion for wildlife photography and sound recording (especially birds), which prompts him to travel globally. Appreciates the aesthetics of bonsai and japanese gardens. Enjoys impressionist paintings and music in different genres (academical, rock, electronic).
