Silvia Kolossa, project manager for NFDI4Chem

After studying Nutritional Sciences and completing her PhD at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Silvia gained experience across academia, industry, and research management. During her doctoral research, she combined computational and clinical approaches, developing R-based algorithms for linear optimization in personalized nutrition and conducting human intervention studies. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher, held project management positions in industry, and supported researchers in the Third-Party Funding Office at TUM. Before joining NFDI4Chem as a project manager, she served as Scientific Coordinator of the Balance of the Microverse Cluster of Excellence at the University of Jena. She brings extensive experience in interdisciplinary research coordination, project management, and data-driven research to support the development of FAIR research data management and sustainable digital research infrastructures for the chemistry community.

She sings in the university’s choir Collegium Vocale, enjoys classical music, and getting lost in thick books, with a particular fondness for historical novels spanning the Middle Ages to the adventures of Jules Verne.
