The Steinbeck group was inaugurated in 1997 at the Max-Planck-Institute of Chemical Ecology (MPICE) in Jena and moved via Cologne University Bioinformatics Center (CUBIC) and the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) to the University of Jena, where it is now.
